Laser Engraving in Connecticut
Permanent marking on wood, metal, leather, acrylic and glass, accurate to about eight thousandths of an inch. For premium pieces, corporate gifts and everything that is not a garment.
What it is, and how it differs from printing
The laser adds nothing to the piece: it transforms it. A focused beam burns, darkens or removes a layer of the material along your design. There is no ink, no vinyl, no layer stuck on top.
From that comes the one advantage that really matters: there is nothing that can peel off. A good print survives dozens of washes; an engraving lasts as long as the object does. That is why it is what gets used when the piece has to survive years: a plaque, a tool, a company gift with somebody's name on it.
The two types, and which one you need
- Surface engraving. Marks only the outer layer. Usual on wood and leather, where the contrast comes from the material's own toasted tone. Warm, crafted finish.
- Deep engraving or cutting. Marks in depth or goes right through. This is what metal, acrylic and hardwoods call for, and it is what lets us cut pieces into a shape instead of only marking them.
You do not have to decide: tell us the material and what it is for, and we will tell you which gives the better result.
What it works on
| Material | Result | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Wood | Excellent, natural toasted tone | Boards, boxes, signage, gifts |
| Anodized metal | Clean, permanent contrast | Plaques, tools, serial numbering |
| Leather | Soft marking, very elegant | Wallets, keyrings, straps, labels |
| Acrylic | Frosted engraving and shaped cutting | Trophies, displays, signs |
| Glass | Matte frosting | Glasses, bottles, commemorative plaques |
Accuracy: about 0.008 in
That is the tolerance we work to, and it is what makes small text, serial numbering and fine detail viable. In practice it means a logo with 1/8 in lettering stays readable, and two pieces from the same order come out identical.
What file to send us
Vector: AI, EPS, SVG or vector PDF, same as with heat transfer vinyl. The laser follows a path, and only a vector defines that path exactly. If what you have is a photo or a logo as an image, send it anyway and we will vectorize it before engraving.
Tell us the material and the dimensions of the piece as well. With garments we supply the blank; here the piece is often yours, and engraving a customer's own object does not allow for a second try.
How ordering works
- Tell us what it is. Material, dimensions, quantity and purpose. A photo of the piece if you have one.
- We quote you. Firm price and firm date, usually same day.
- You approve the mockup. We show you how the engraving will sit on the piece. Nothing is engraved until you say yes.
- Production and delivery. 24 to 72 hours for small and medium quantities.
For corporate orders with several identical pieces, see how we work on business orders.

Questions we get
Can I bring my own piece?
Yes, and it is the usual case with gifts. Tell us the material before bringing it so we can confirm it can be engraved safely.
What is the minimum order?
One piece. A single engraved keyring is a normal order.
What does it cost?
It depends on the material, the size of the engraving and the quantity. There is a reference on pricing, and for your own pieces we look at it case by case.
Have a piece in mind?
Send us a photo and the dimensions on WhatsApp and we will tell you whether it can be engraved, with what finish and what it costs. Usually same day.
Is your job going on fabric? Then it is DTF printing or heat transfer vinyl, depending on the design.
