Heat Transfer Vinyl in Connecticut

Solid colors, crisp type and the best wash durability of the three techniques. It is the default choice for numbers, names and simple logos, from a single piece.

What heat transfer vinyl is

Nothing gets printed here. We start from a sheet of vinyl in a single color, a machine cuts it along the contour of your design, every bit of surplus material is weeded away by hand, and what is left is pressed onto the garment with heat.

That word cuts changes the rules completely compared to DTF. Because the color comes from the factory in the sheet rather than from ink, it is a flat, uniform, exact color: the same red today and six months from now when the team needs replacements. And because vinyl is a continuous layer rather than deposited ink, it stands up to washing better than anything else we do.

When vinyl wins and when it loses

The short rule is: count the colors. Every additional color is another sheet, another cut and another press, so the price climbs in steps. In DTF a photograph costs the same as a two-color logo.

Your jobTechniqueWhy
Numbers, names, team jerseysVinyl Exactly what it exists for: one color, clean edges, lasts the whole season
Logo in 1 or 2 flat colorsVinyl Cheaper than DTF at that complexity, and it washes better
It has to be visible at nightReflective vinyl DTF has no equivalent. This is not a preference, it is the only option
Photograph, gradient or many colorsDTF In vinyl it would be so many layers that it neither adds up nor looks good
Very small text or very fine strokesDepends Below a certain size the surplus cannot be weeded without tearing the letter. We tell you the real minimum for your artwork before cutting

Finishes you only get here

  • Matte. The most discreet. It sits into the garment and does not flare in photos.
  • Satin. A touch of sheen, the usual pick for sports logos.
  • Reflective. Bounces headlights back. The standard on workwear and on outdoor gear for running or cycling.
  • Flock (velvet). Raised, matte, with a suede feel. This is the classic finish for names and jersey numbers, and the one that makes a garment feel expensive without being expensive: you notice it with your hand, not just your eye.

As for materials, it works on cotton, performance fabrics and caps, which is where a small name or crest gets asked for most.

What file to send us. The format matters here

For vinyl we need a vector file: AI, EPS, SVG or vector PDF. That is not fussiness on our part. The machine cuts along a mathematical contour, and only a vector defines that contour exactly at any size.

A PNG, however good, is a grid of pixels: enlarge it and the edge turns into stair steps, and the blade would follow those steps. If all you have is an image, no problem, send it and we will vectorize it before cutting. This is the main difference from DTF, where a 300 dpi PNG is exactly what we want.

How ordering works

  • Tell us your idea. WhatsApp or the form. Send the artwork if you have it; if not, we will prepare it.
  • We quote you. With quantity, colors and size, a firm price and date. Usually same day.
  • You approve the mockup. Nothing gets cut until you say yes.
  • Production and delivery. 24 to 72 hours for small and medium runs.

Caring for the garment

Inside out, cold or warm water (86 F max), no hot dryer, and never iron directly on the vinyl. Do that and it outlasts the garment. The real enemy, same as with DTF, is the dryer.

Where we ship

The shop is in Fairfield, Connecticut. We ship anywhere in Connecticut and to neighboring states, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, so delivery lands in a day or two. If you are nearby, pick up at the shop and skip shipping entirely.

Questions we get

What is the minimum order?

One piece. A single name on a single shirt is a perfectly normal order.

Can I mix vinyl and DTF on the same garment?

Yes, and sometimes it is the smart move: the full-color crest in DTF on the chest and the name in reflective vinyl on the back. Tell us and we will lay it out that way.

What does it cost?

It depends on the garment, the size and the quantity. The per-product table is on pricing.

Shall we try it with your design?

Upload it to the simulator and see how it sits on the garment and color you want. Or write to us and we will tell you whether your job is vinyl or DTF, even when it suits us less.

Does your design have photos or gradients? Then it is DTF printing. Is it going on wood or metal? Then it is laser engraving.
